- You develop novel technological approaches in the field of time-resolved imaging, laying the foundation for mid-term product innovations.
- You translate your scientific expertise into practice by independently implementing concepts in hardware and software and developing demonstrators that generate robust qualitative and quantitative insights.
- You evaluate new technologies and concepts independently and on a sound scientific basis, working closely with R&D and product management to support strategic decision-making.
- You present your results clearly and persuasively, both internally and in collaboration with partners from academia and industry.
- You actively build and maintain a strong network of academic and industrial collaborators, continuously expanding it.
Your Profile
- You have successfully completed a degree in a natural science or engineering discipline (e.g., physics or a related field), ideally complemented by a PhD and postdoctoral experience; alternatively, you bring an equivalent qualification gained in an industry setting.
- You possess in-depth knowledge of current imaging technologies in materials science or life sciences and apply this expertise confidently, for example as an advanced user of modern microscopy techniques.
- You leverage your expertise in optics – ideally in imaging – and apply data analysis methods (Python or MATLAB preferred) to generate robust results. Experience in controlling automated components is a plus.
- You think and work in an interdisciplinary manner and effectively contribute knowledge from adjacent fields such as electronics or AI.
- You critically challenge the current state of the art, develop new solutions independently, and work in a structured, diligent, and responsible manner.
- You excel at communicating complex topics clearly, inspiring others with your ideas, and collaborating confidently in interdisciplinary teams.
- You operate effectively in an international environment and have very good German language skills (minimum C1) as well as good English skills (minimum B2).
