Maryam studied Physics at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (Iran), where she specialized in particle physics during her Master’s studies. She then moved to Berlin to pursue her PhD, focusing on the dynamic role of protonation in the function of phytochrome variants using time-resolved fluorescence microscopy (FLIM) and spectroscopy. Her doctoral research combined concepts from biophysics, biochemistry, and photonics, alongside extensive experimental work and laboratory management.
Currently, Maryam works at PicoQuant in Berlin as a Product Manager for Laser Technology. In this role, she is responsible for shaping and managing the laser portfolio roadmap. She works closely with customers to understand their challenges and translates these into product requirements, while collaborating with R&D, marketing, and sales teams to develop and position innovative laser solutions for applications in photonics, life sciences, and advanced spectroscopy.
