Fabian studied Biology at the University of Würzburg in Germany. For his Master thesis he moved to Berlin and started to work on the virus host interaction at the federal Rober-Koch Institute. He got an IMPRS-IDI Max-Planck Phd fellowship and worked in the Molecular Biophysics lab of Prof. Andreas Herrmann at the Humboldt University Berlin. During his PhD between 2012- 2016 he worked on protein-RNA and protein-protein interactions of the cellular viral response upon an influence virus infection using FLIM, FLIM-FRET and Anisotropy methods.
Fabian joined PicoQuant in 2016 in a shared position between sales and support. From the beginning he was responsible for the Turn-Key FLIM & FCS upgrade kit for laser scanning microscopes. From 2017 worked as an application sales specialist with the focus on the PicoQuant LSM Upgrade kit. Since 2021 he has been responsible for the strategic positioning of the LSM Upgrade kit as a business development manager keeping a very close communication with existing and also new business partners.
