As a company leading in Single Photon Counting applications, our scientific work is centered around time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. Photons emitted by molecules in response to excitation by light convey valuable information about these molecules. Where traditional methods analyse the wavelength of emitted photons, we gain additional information over these processes by including time parameters in the analysis. Quite generally we work on the introduction of laser-fluorimetry to biological sciences, chemical analytics and materials sciences. One of our special fields of interest is single molecule detection (SMD).

Workshops / Courses
PicoQuant organizes several international workshops and teaching courses during the year, including
- the Single Molecule Spectroscopy (SMS) Workshop, which brings together the top researchers in the field
- the short course on "Principles and Applications of Time-resolved Fluorescence Spectroscopy"
- the short course on "Time-Resolved Microscopy and Correlation Spectroscopy"
We would be happy to see you at one of these events here in Berlin. You can also meet PicoQuant at various exhibitions and conferences throughout the world.

PicoQuant community forum
This forum is intended as a platform for users of PicoQuant's systems, components and software packages. It is not strictly limited to software related questions. As PicoQuant products cover a wide range of applications from single molecule experiments to life sciences and material science, discussions of the scientific background are of course welcome.

Quantum Random Number Generator Service (QRNG)
PicoQuant GmbH and the Department of Physics - Nanooptics of Humboldt University offer a high bit rate quantum random number generator (QRNG) service delivering truly random numbers over the internet. The service is based on a new quantum random number generator based on the quantum randomness of photon arrival times. It promises provable and long term statistical quality, speed as well as affordability. Our design creates a new quality in the sense that it offers substantially higher bit rates than previous solutions available to the public.
