A Brief Description |
 |
 |
The femtosecond Ti:Sapphire-laser and the low cost laser kit were developed by CDP Laser and scanning system in close collaboration with the Ultrafast Phenomena Group at the FIAN Institute in Moscow. It works on the principle of Kerr lens mode-locking, combining the effects of optical self-focusing and spatial filtering. The kit represents an excellent combination of high performance and low cost.

Ti:Sa laser kit on optical table
Containing all necessary optical and mechanical elements together with a thorough instruction, it enables the user to achieve stable femtosecond lasing after a short time of training. Different configurations possible with the kit result in several advantages compared to fixed setups. Repetition rates may be varied from 70 to 110 MHz. By modifying the prism setup, dispersion effects of glasses used in the experiment can be compensated.
In addition second-, third- and fourth harmonic generation units can be coupled to the laser and the laser kit for a complete set of excitation wavelengths. With this frequency conversion it is an ideal excitation source for the FluoTime 200 in the Ti:Sa configuration with a subtractive double monochromator and fast MCP-PMT detector.
