The first part introduces the fluorescence lifetime as an additional parameter that can be used to study a specific sample. The talk describes basic principles of the underlying technology to measure the fluorescence lifetime (Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting) and gives a brief introduction on the data analysis. Two dedicated presentations show features and application examples of Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) and Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS).
