A Brief Description

The FluoTime 100 combines the award winning miniaturized light sources from PicoQuant with a maximum troughput optical system and the versatile detection electronics. The easy of use, economically priced and space saving spectrometer contains the complete optics and electronics for recording fluorescence decays by means of Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC). With the FluoTime 100 decay times of down to 40 picoseconds can be resolved. The system allows operation at laser repetition rates of more than 80 MHz.

The FluoTime 100 system is designed to operate with either picosecond laser excitation and / or sub-nanosecond pulsed LEDs. High N.A. focussing and collecting optics are used to achieve ultimate sensitivity. For spectral filtering of the emission light cut-off filters are used for high light throughput. As standard detector a fast and reliable PMT will allow detection with an Instrument Response Function (IRF) of about 300 ps. The data acqusition is based on the method of Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC), which ensures a high temporal resolution at high sensitivities. Lifetimes tanging from picoseconds to milliseconds can be resolved using the PicoHarp 300 TCSPC module. For investigations of long lifetimes samples, the NanoHarp 250 photon counter/multiscaler is available as an option. All data acquisition functions of the FluoTime 100 spectrometer are controlled by an easy-to-use software for Windows. The software provides functions such as setup of parameters, loading files, control of the measurement in the selected operation mode. Data analysis is done using FluoFit, which allows reconvolution of decays, saving of results and parameters, etc.
