Congratulations to the winners of PicoQuant’s SPIE Photonics West 2021 picture contest

As the Photonics West was held virtually this year, our traditional Young Investigator Award could not be awarded during the BiOS session on Single Molecule Spectroscopy and Superresolution Imaging. Alternatively, we decided to support young researchers by holding a picture contest and asked for selfies with a PicoQuant product.

Congratulations to the two winners of our picture contest:

Phillip McCann (University of Tokyo, Japan) and

Veronika Parfentyeva (ICFO, Spain)

Both will have their SPIE attendance fee refunded by PicoQuant.

Quantifying structural heterogeneity and dynamics in disordered proteins is one of the key steps to unveil how the protein sequence encodes for intrinsically disordered protein (IPD) conformations and interactions and, ultimately, function. Join our invited speaker, Dr. Andrea Soranno, to learn how his group uses smFRET and nsFCS to uncover the dynamics and functioning of IDPs, such as the Polypyrimidine Tract Binding Protein, on the single molecule level.

Picture Contest at Photonics West

The winners will have their Photonics West attendance fees refunded

Due to the circumstances, our traditional Young Investigator Award will not be awarded during the BiOS session on Single Molecule Spectroscopy and Superresolution Imaging. Instead, we will hold a picture contest for young researchers (< 35 years). The winners will have their SPIE attendance fees refunded by PicoQuant. To enter the contest, send a selfie with your PicoQuant product along with your contact details, and a short description (~100 words) of what you are currently working on to events@picoquant.com before March 8, 2021.The lucky winners will be announced on March 10, 2021.

PicoQuant presents latest developments at the virtual Photonics West 2021

Highlights are the MultiHarp 160, a scalable multichannel event timer and the improved rapidFLIM HiRes imaging method

PicoQuant has quite a few treats in store for attendees of this year’s virtual SPIE Photonics West (March 6–11, 2021). A major highlight is the launch of the latest multichannel event timer: The MultiHarp 160, a plug-and-play time tagger and Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC) unit that is optimized for applications requiring up to 64 timing channels with an outstanding time resolution of 5 ps and ultra short dead time of less than 650 ps. Dr. Michael Holmes joins the PicoQuant family as sales representative for laser customers in southern U.S.

PicoQuant’s network of local representatives keeps on growing: In January 2021, Michael Holmes joined the company’s sales team in the USA, providing consulting and directing sales for PicoQuant’s laser portfolio to customers in all US states south of the imaginary line connecting Washington DC and Los Angeles.
